This Privacy Policy explains how Givenly (“we”, “us”, “our” or “Givenly”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit givenly.com (the “Site”) or use the Givenly platform and services. It applies to visitors to the Site, to the people at our customer organizations who use our services (each, a “User”), and to the gift recipients our customers add to the platform.
Our Commitments
First and foremost — we do not sell your personal data. We are not a data company; we are in the business of facilitating gifting and recognition. Your personal information, contacts, purchase history, and other sensitive data are kept confidential.
We do not require or request sensitive personal data. We collect only the basic contact information needed to run our services and fulfill gift orders — names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers. Gift recipients that customers add to the platform are never contacted by Givenly without the customer’s permission, and are only contacted to facilitate the completion of a gift delivery.
Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you request a demo, a quote, or otherwise contact us through forms on the Site, we collect the details you submit — typically your name, work email, company, phone number, approximate headcount, the products you’re interested in, and any project details you share (for example, kit quantities, budgets, or in-hands dates). If you use the Givenly platform, we also collect account and order information, and the gift recipient contact details you or your organization provide for fulfillment.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site we automatically collect device and usage information — browser type, operating system, IP address, the pages you view, and the page or advertisement that referred you. If you arrive from an ad or campaign link, we store the click and campaign identifiers (such as Google click IDs and UTM parameters) in first-party cookies for up to 90 days so we can attribute inquiries to the right campaign.
Information from other sources. We use a visitor-identification service that matches some Site visitors to publicly available business contact information (such as name, work email, and company) so our team can follow up with companies that appear interested in our services. We may also receive business contact information from data providers, CRM tools, and publicly available sources.
How We Use Information
- To respond and provide services: answering demo and quote requests, running the Givenly platform, fulfilling gift and merchandise orders, and providing customer support.
- To measure and improve: understanding how the Site and our services are used, measuring which campaigns and pages lead to inquiries, and improving our products, content, and service.
- To market our services: reaching out about our services, sending relevant communications (you can opt out at any time), and showing ads — including remarketing ads — to people who have shown interest in Givenly.
- To protect and comply: securing our Site and services, preventing fraud and abuse, and meeting legal obligations.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies:
- First-party attribution cookies (names beginning with
gv_): store the campaign, click identifiers, and landing page that brought you to the Site. They expire after 90 days. - Analytics: Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics help us understand Site traffic and usage in aggregate.
- Advertising: Google Ads tags measure conversions from our ads and support remarketing, so we can show relevant ads to past visitors on other sites.
- CRM and visitor identification: HubSpot tracking connects your inquiries to our CRM so we don’t lose context, and our visitor-identification service (described above) helps us recognize visiting companies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them; parts of the Site may not function properly without them. To opt out of personalized advertising, visit Google Ads Settings and optout.aboutads.info; to opt out of Google Analytics, use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
How We Share Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us operate — website hosting, analytics, advertising measurement, CRM (for example, HubSpot), email delivery, visitor identification, payment processing, and shipping carriers and fulfillment partners who need recipient details to deliver orders. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Our internal systems that route your inquiry to the right person on our team.
- Professional advisors and authorities when required to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, safety, and property.
- A successor organization if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case this Privacy Policy would continue to apply.
We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
Your Choices & Rights
- Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or email us to opt out.
- Cookies and ads: use the browser controls and opt-out links in the Cookies section above.
- Access, correction, deletion: you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing help@givenly.com. We honor applicable privacy rights under the laws of your state or country (including, for California residents, the rights to know, correct, delete, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them), and we will verify and respond to requests as those laws require.
If you are a gift recipient whose information was provided to us by one of our customers, we act on that customer’s behalf to fulfill your gift; we will also route your privacy requests to them where the law requires it.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described above — for example, for as long as you are a customer or an active prospect, or as needed to fulfill orders, resolve disputes, and meet legal and accounting obligations — and then delete or de-identify it. Attribution cookies expire on their own after 90 days.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and secure processing practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. We never knowingly collect or maintain information from anyone under 13 years old, and no part of our Site is structured to attract anyone under 13 years old.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
